__________________________ Hereby referred to as the BREEDER.
1. The ADOPTER agrees to provide this rat with proper food, water, shelter, and appropriate veterinary care.
2. The ADOPTER agrees to provide proper bedding material and never to house this rat on pine or cedar.
3. The ADOPTER understands that this rat may not be sold, given away, abandoned, or turned over to any other animal control facility,
rescue group, shelter or research facility for any reason. If it becomes necessary to give up this rat it must be returned to the BREEDER.
This contract is non-transferable. No refunds will be given.
4. The ADOPTER agrees to notify the BREEDER ten (10) days prior to a change of address, and immediately if this rat becomes lost, in the event
of it’s death, of any sickness, of any animal control action, or of any change of environment that may affect this rat.
5. The ADOPTER acknowledges and understands that if the Adopter acts in violation to any part of this contractual agreement either through act
or omission, knowingly or intentionally commits misrepresentation to any contractual stipulation, this contract will be considered null and void
and ownership of said rat will revert back to the BREEDER.
6. The ADOPTER agrees to pay all reasonable court costs and attorney fees.
7. The BREEDER guarantees the rat to be healthy at the time of the sale.
8. The BREEDER does not assume any liability for any injury to said rat after delivery.
9. The BREEDER can offer no further guarantees once the care of the rat is no longer under their control.
10. The ADOPTER agrees that this rat is a PET ONLY or BREEDING (circle one)
11. If this rat is for BREEDING the ADOPTER agrees to all of the following:
A. Not to breed said rat before 4 months of age.
B. This rat and it’s offspring are not to be used as feeders.
C. The ADOPTER will practice responsible breeding practices.
D. This rat will still be treated as a pet.
12. If this rat is a PET ONLY the ADOPTER agrees to all of the following:
A. The ADOPTER will not let this rat produce or sire a litter.
B. If the rat sire’s or produces a litter ownership of said rat will revert to the BREEDER and any offspring produced will be returned
to the BREEDER.
C. (FEMALE) If said rat becomes pregnant she will be returned immediately to the BREEDER.
D. (MALE) If said rat sire’s a litter the pregnant female will be given immediately to the BREEDER of the sire and will be returned after
weaning her litter at the expense of the ADOPTER.
13. The ADOPTER agrees this rat will receive daily attention and never be housed alone.
14. The ADOPTER agrees this rat will receive daily exercise and time out of it’s cage.
The UNDERSIGNED Adopter hereby acknowledges having read the terms of the Contract and does hereby agree to abide by each of the rules of adoption
set forth above.
